MAgazines

Does anyone stock pile on home decor magazines that I could borrow. I need a thousand ideas before I can decide what I want to with my home. If you want them back, I'll be happy to return them. But if you have a pile of magazine subscriptions that pile up, I'd love to take a peek at them before they get recycled. Thanks.

Do you have what I'm looking for?

So - since you're all just sitting home hanging out... I need you to check around your house for a couple of items. First I need a men's xl coveralls suit that I can borrow for a few days. It has to be pretty clean (not a ton of stains).

I also am looking for kids pants that have back pockets and are no longer usable that I can cut up for a project I'm working on. It doesn't have to be jeans, but the heavier material would be better.

Need a babysitter for V-Day?

De-junking

Spring is just around the corner (maybe) but I am getting into that de-clutter mood already considering we've just had Christmas and both of our kids birthdays already this year. Time to get rid of the junk. Maybe we could arrange a time where we could all drop off our junk, take a minute to take a peak at each others junk to see if there are any treasures for ourselves, and then we can either D.I. it or freecycle it. Just a thought. If I don't hear from ya, I'll just get rid of my own junk and you can get rid of yours and none will be the wiser!

Stocking Stuffer Ideas

Hello Friends,

It's Jacque the Elf here. I am doing lots of home-made gifts this year and I have put a lot of time into these projects so I thought I would share them to see if anyone else is needing a little something to put in someone's stocking. I hope you don't mind me using the Friend Blog to advertise.

The first is a Family Home Evening Kit. There are 12 ready-to-play games (that's one game per month). I made it for my sister by printing the games off, putting them in sheet protectors and then into a binder. There is only one game that has pieces to go along with it, the rest consist just of the game board and instructions. It's up to you if you want to prepare the binder for someone, or just give them the CD with the games ready to print.

I'm selling the CDs in a case for 5$ each. I've included some sample games below so you have an idea of what you are getting.

Book of Mormon Clue comes with pieces and another page to the board.

The next project is personalized. I've made a calendar template for 2010 that showcases your family pictures. These are great grandparent gifts! It's $3 and all you have to do is either email me or give me disk with about 20 of your pictures and I can just email them right to you. It's up to you what you do with them from there. Below are a few things I chose to do.



Here I took blocks and modged podged the photos. You can purchase the blocks for $2.

Here, I took a CD case and used it to make a stand. The case stores all the months not currently being used.

And of course there is the traditional desk calendar where you can bind into a flip chart calendar.

Really really time.

So I think it is really time that we got things going again! So I am thinking of days that would work for the house tours. Soooo I am thinking the first of Jan. I think it has gotten into the crazy time of year for all of us. When I find out everyone that wants in we will work out a schedule. Erin suggested that we do like a progressive dinner. Appetizers at the first house, salads, bread, a main dish and a dessert of course!! So let me know if you want in. Then we will work out the schedule. And I think it is time for us to go out!!! Let's plan a day to escape and have fun. Maybe pedicures or massages or something.

Husbands!

I am having a hard time thinking of something to get my husband for Christmas. I like to get all my shopping done before Thanksgiving because, as you all know, I dont like people that much, and after Thanksgiving there are just too many people in the stores. So I just have a couple of weeks to finish, and I have no idea what to buy dear old hubby. So give me your ideas ladies, let me know what you have gotten/ plan to get/ wish to get for your husbands.

(Oh, and by the way, I love you guys, its just all the other people that I dont like.)

So I have an idea I wanted to pose to you ladies. I am wondering who would be interested in setting up a home tour. I don't know about you but I have some major trouble with the area of decorating. So since we all have mostly the same space I think that it would be great to all see what everyone else does with that space. I was thinking we could set up a night that we could all go around and we could check it out. We could all make something yummy that would be waiting for us at all the homes. See I LOVE to eat. Let me know what you think. I think it would be good to do it soon since everyone will pull out those Christmas things soon and that changes everything.

Craft Help

Ok, so I have a million projects going at once...lots that I've started and am trying to finish. I dug out an old quiet book I was making for Toby and realized why I stopped. Sooo....does anyone have the tool or know how to attach the snaps (like the ones you find on a baby onsie. I actually think I have the tool but have no idea how to use it.

Does anyone else have Christmas projects they are working on and want to get together and have company in finishing them? I just love having someone to talk to while I work.

Labor Anyone?

Okay so apparently different people think I have already had this baby, I can assure you I have NOT! They are taking him via c-section (like my other 2) on Nov.8th at Davis Hospital. I am however more miserable with this baby then I have ever been. So that being said ... does anyone know some good ways to start labor? Please let me know! :) I want this lil boy outta me asap!

Farewell our friend

So we are going out this Saturday at 7 to say goodbye to Miriam. Lets plan on carpooling and we will get Miriam last and decide where to go to eat. If you want to drive yourself let us know you are coming and we can call you when we decide. I can't believe she is leaving us!! Let's go have one more crazy night with her before she leaves! Comment if you are coming and we can set up carpools!!

Miriam

Miriam is leaving us soon and we need to go out with her before she leaves. I have talked to her about it so lets make sure that we get to say goodbye to her!!! I am going to miss her. She is such a sweet genuine person that is always there to help. I am always calling her to seek her option on things, we might have some of the same paranoia. Love you Miriam. Tell us when and where!!!

Crafting nights!!

OK ladies,

I've bawled enough over my husband being gone this week. I want to let everyone know that every night this week I am having a crafting party. I'm going to be working on all the projects I ordered but didn't get done at super Saturday. I'm also going to sew like crazy. Hannah got a new bed and I need to make a bed skirt. I also have been meaning to make a valance for my bedroom.

So... anyone who is in the same boat (needing to finish projects). Please call me, or just stop by. I know there are lots of people who didn't get their super sat stuff done, if you want help finishing it, I am more than willing to help.

I know Monday night is family night (so don't worry about that night). But any other night that works for anyone, come on over. Even if nobody comes that would be OK. I'm going to turn on a chick flick every night after the kids are in bed and craft like crazy.

Need your ideas!!!!

Ok all you CrEaTiVe ladies!!! I need your ideas. My walls are EMPTY and we have family coming for Thanksgiving. So although I won't get everything painted like I'd like to, I'd at least like to have evidence of a loving family living here. Here is what I am need of:

~ I have two bathrooms and a laundry room painted (almost) and ready for things to hang on the wall. Any good wall quotes fit for a bathroom and laundry. (Vinyl lettering...I am sooo seriously behind the Utah trend. I've lived in Utah for 5 years now and haven't gotten to use any yet.)

~ Also, do you have a color of paint in your house that you absolutely love and wouldn't mind me coming to take a peek? I need ideas without buying every paint sample in the store and making a swatch on my wall.

~I am also loving turning old things into new. If you have and old furniture that you are just trying to get to D.I. then let me know.

~ Do you have a stash of half used gallons of paint that you don't know what to do with or how to dispose of? I'd be happy to take them off your hands for you.

And finally, if you have anything creative that you think I could re-create using my own supplies, let me know so I can come take a peek (and possibly a picture).
