Background Info! :)

Hey girls!

I noticed someone wanted to give the blog a summery update:) Which is fantastic! It needed it, but just so we all know... do NOT use Lee Lou Backgrounds. Their templates mess things up BIG time! No worries for whoever did, I'm sure you had no idea. And it is definitely fixable, it just takes a while:) I put up one from Janny Pie for now. If you don't like it, we can totally change it! You may notice though, her icon almost covers your customize button... it is still usable. Just go slightly over the top of it to click, and it works just the same! If anyone ever has any blog questions, let me know! Thanks!

Just an FYI

Okay, so I was thinking about how sometimes when I get on our blog and haven't checked for a while, it can be a bit overwhelming cause there has usually been a ton of posts! :) Where do you begin? Usually it means you miss stuff people have posted.
So, I decided to take the liberty of organizing a little! If you will now notice there are LABELS! To everything! It was actually kinda hard to come up with some, so I hope it's okay.
Now when you post if you will notice the little space before the "Publish Post" button.... it says "Post Options", then off to the right it says "Labels for this post" with a space. In that space is where you will type the designated category you feel it fits in. If there is not one, make a new one. Please try to keep it relatively simple though, so we don't get a million different categories:) I really think this should help, so if you are new and want to see some fun stuff we've talked about or done, you can peek at the particular category you choose. Or if you are like me and just miss stuff every once in a while, you can just look at the category you want to catch up on. {Side note.... as you start to use the labels, I know it seems like everything could fit under FYI but I had to create it. Some of the posts just didn't fit under any category, so limit that one to those kinds}
Oh, and one last thing. . . on our own little sites off to the side, I created a new list for them so that the ones that are actually 'blogs' will show up with the time they were last updated! It helps to keep you up to date with when new stuff happens with each of our gals! :)

Hello?

I wanted to tell everyone if you call me and I ignore you I am not really ignoring you. I have now totally lost my voice and you would not hear anything I said. I try to yell but nothing comes out and it hurts. Bit of one of those scenes in movies where she falls being chased and it is all over for her. Well, that happened to my voice. So don't think I hate you or am dead or anything. Just not on speaking terms with myself.

Tepanyaki Coupon

I noticed that Tepanyaki won the polls for our night out. In the HomeTown Values coupon book that comes in the mail there is a "Buy one dinner and get the second dinner half off" coupon. So if you ladies want to team up you might be able to save a little money. I wont be able to go (so sad, I love sushi!), but I can give my coupon to who ever wants it. Just let me know.

Beehive Cheese Factory Tour

I was wondering if anyone else would be interested in touring our local cheese factory...Beehive Cheese Co. It's right there at the mouth of Weber Canyon.

They teach you how to make your own cheese, and about aging and of course the tastings!!!


I had a friend go with a home school group and said it was fantastic and amazing. All we have to do is call and let them know how many are coming and they'll take care of the rest. I have a small group going so let me know if you want to join us!!

Fire Station Final Count and Free Stuff

So I wanted to make sure I have everyone that wants to go to the fire station. I have Melissa C (2), Melissa K (1), Kylee (2), Sharida (2), Jessica (1), April (2), me (3), Erin (3), and ... If I forgot you please post so I can add you to the count. I am not sure why they need to know but I want to make sure I have a count so in case they do hats or coloring books or something we have enough so we don't have tears. If I do have your name let me know how many kids you want to count. Like I am counting my big 3 but not Elsie. So let me know how many you need me to count in case they hand things out if it is different then the # by your name. The tour will last about a half and hour.

FREE STUFF
The Natural History Museum is FREE on Monday. It is really fun. They have a sand pit where they can dig for bones and a new thing upstairs where they can do a puppet show. It is always better when it is free!!!

The Art Museum is FREE on Wednesday. My kids like going to see the art and funny sculptures. They have a special exhibit of Native American Art right now.

Fire Station Time And the ZOO

The Syracuse Fire Department
March 3 at 3:00pm. They are just south of Syracuse Arts Academy off 3000 West. Let me know if you are coming. They want a count of kids to expect so I need to call and let them know. They said there is a video they watch and they get a full tour of the station. She told me it is a new station with all kinds of great things to see. She said they will also gear up so the kids can see and hear what they look like if they ever have to come save them. Also next Wed the 24th is free zoo day and the kids and I are heading down in the afternoon if anyone wants to go!!

New idea

So I was thinking.... I haven't left the house is awhile so this is what happens. Is anyone interested in adding another blog that would be just for swapping things? I have used freecycle in the past and love it but it takes some effort. I thought it might be nice if you had a place where we could post things that we did not need anymore so that if someone needed them we could share. Or if you need or want something that you could post about that and maybe someone would have one laying around. I know we take stuff to DI all the time and I would love it if someone I know could use it. Anyways, I am not sure if anyone would be interested but I thought I would ask.

We made it!!!

I have officially survived 37 weeks and 1 day of being with child. I am so glad I am not an elephant. You know they are prego for like 2 years or something horrid like that!!! Anyways, we are doing good. She is a bit small and having some minor troubles that I hope will work out in the next few days. I am so glad it is over. On to the sleepless nights!!!!

I went to this conference in the past and it was great. I got tons of free stuff and gathered some really great information. For $10 I think it is a great deal. I thought someone else might like to go.

Baby shower and books?

Ok, so I just got an invitation to a baby shower that is this Thursday for Cassidy. We will just cancel book club this week. If any of you want to do it next thursday let me know. If not we can just plan it for next month in February. So everybody you have more time to read the book if you like ( you don't have to read the book to come, it's more about just gettting together).

New Favorite thing

I try to make photo books every year for the kids. I never ever print anything out so it is my way of having a hard copy of their pictures. Anyways, I found out this year that Costco has partnered with a service called MY Publisher. You download a program on your computer that has all the templates you need. Then you can choose which photos you want to use without uploading everything. It is really fast!! So I just got my first book I ordered and it looks great. If anyone is interested and wants to see one before they order let me know. I think this is the easiest and cheapest way to make one of these.

Attention Shoppers

So I went to Smiths tonight and they had some great crayola stuff on sale. If you go to the end of the seasonal aisle there is a display with markers and color wonder and twistables, all that stuff that is mostly empty but somethings are there. So I went down the school supplies aisle and they were there but not marked down. But they rang up on sale. I got some markers for $1.25 and some colored pencils things for .97 so Pip Squeaks for 1.25 and some color wonder mini packets with markers and pad for $1.35. Anyways, I always love these sales because we use up our art supplies so fast!!!!
